Lovefood | Art Print

"Lovefood" comes as a limited edition art print. The original artwork is an ink artwork on paper. It shows a fantasy creature sitting in a dark scenery beneath some old trees. It´s fullmoon and the creature/the boy feels lovesick, holding a symbolic heart in his hands, like a bird would clutch his prey. His wings are spread even though he prefers to be seated to linger in his thoughts. To represent the confusion of the thousands of thoughts that are on his mind, his mouth looks like a cackling bird's beak. He shares his thoughts and doubts with three animals, the wise old owl king, the clever rabbit-punk and the sweet-talking cat, while the eyes of the earth are patiently watching him.

"Inking" with a rapidograph is definitely one of my favorite drawing techniques. I work with the thinnest one of those, which is a .18 rapidograph. The tip of the rapidograph pen is like a needle, so if you´re using a soft paper it´s like tattooing. I´m slightly scratching on the surface of the paper to apply the ink.
